Of durable toughened PVC construction, this small Capillary Blotting Unit (smaller15 x 26cm model available; CP-1526) features a permanent optimised wick system which eliminates the use of traditional overhanging filter wicks. This new system draws up more fluid than conventional systems, thus ensuring faster and more even blots. Multiple gels can be transferred simultaneously, side by side in the same unit - simply by masking the area surrounding the gels.

Principle:
Through capillary action, the buffer travels from the reservoir to the blot pack via porous supports, permanent wick, gel and membrane. This action optimises the transfer of low and high Molecular Weight DNA/RNA from gel to membrane without mechanical damage to even the thinnest of gels.
